Albert has devoted his legal career to civil litigation, specializing in personal injury since his call to the bar in 1985. In November, 2002, Albert received a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation designation from the Law Society of Upper Canada. Albert has been recognized in the American Publication Martindale-Hubbell for his legal ability and ethical standards.
Albert has conducted trials, both jury and non-jury, as well as Appeals before the Division Court and Ontario Court of Appeal. Albert frequently appears in proceedings at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) as well as other tribunals.
Albert has been asked to participate in professional education programs put on by The Advocates' Society, The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, The Canadian Institute and the Canadian Bar Association (Ontario). He has also taken part in numerous programs to educate the public regarding auto insurance as well as programs to assist health care practitioners in managing the interface between the medical profession and the Insurance Act requirements.
Albert has just completed a two year term as Chair of the Bar Dispute Forum Group at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. Albert was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of the Toronto Lawyers Association. He is a past member of the Executive of the Insurance Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association (Ont.) as well as a past editor of the Insurance Law Memo.
