Sandev S. Purewal is an Associate at Pace Law Firm practicing personal injury and insurance litigation. Sandev is also a Director of the Brain Injury Association of Peel & Halton (BIAPH). He received his B.A. (Honours) and B.Ed. from York University in 1996, a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the University of Toronto in 1998, and his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1999. At Osgoode Hall Law School, he was also a Research Assistant to Professor D. Paul Emond in 1998 and helped develop the Professional Development Program's Negotiation Skills Workshop.
Sandev completed his litigation articles with a prominent personal injury firm in Toronto in 1999/2000, and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2001. In 2001, he worked for a commercial insurance litigation firm advising on and defending claims respecting property insurance (including fraud and arson) and fidelity insurance, as well as the pursuit of subrogated actions.
From 2002 to 2007, Sandev worked for Greg Monforton & Partners in Windsor, Ontario where his practice was restricted to representation of plaintiffs in personal injury, wrongful death and class action cases. Sandev was Senior Associate to Greg Monforton, President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (2006/07), and also established and led the firm's Bad Faith/Long Term Disability litigation practice. Additionally, Sandev continues to act as a Canadian legal counsel to Michigan's largest plaintiff litigation firm, Sommers Schwartz P.C., with respect to Ontario personal injury law.
